And so the adventure has started.
Almost a week has passed since arriving in Japan and it has gone by in good health and spirits.
I flew into Narita Airport on the 13th arriving at 8.40 ahead of schedule

I then proceeded to travel straight to Atsuko, Tetsuya and Shoko's house in the centre of Tokyo and then collapsed after the eleven hour flight and journey through town.
Day two started with a delicious breakfast and a plan to see Nippori, a small residential area north of Ueno park. Nippori has a small shopping street a that is known for its food and small independent shops.

Day Three. SHIBUYA!
Shibuya is the hippest place in Tokyo to go, so many stores, people, restaurants it's almost a sensory overload. I planned to meet my friend Henry from the old times of home education.

Day four saw me travel to Shinjuku area on the middle west side of Tokyo. It holds most of the government buildings including Tocho, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. You can take a lift for free to the 45th floor to see a stunning view over the metropolis.

Day five! Astuko, Tetsuya and I went to a flea market in Chofu, west of Tokyo Central. It was packed full of people, antiques, foods, craft beers, crafts and furniture galore.
